Six Days of Discovering Tajikistan

This 4-day trip is short but quite significant to discover the history of Tajikistan. It consists of four steps, four eternal places, four ways to comprehend the past and the present of this country. Travelling from Dushanbe to Khujand and passing by Nurek Lake, you will have an ideal round trip to discover the essential destinations of this country.

ITINERARY


Day 1       Dushanbe
Arrival at Dushanbe Airport. Transfer to the hotel, check-in, leisure time.

Day 2       Dushanbe City Tour
At 09:00 meeting with the guide in the hotel’s reception.
The morning will be dedicated to discovering Tajikistan’s Capital - Dushanbe, which is the biggest city in the country. We will visit the city center and pass beside the impressive Monument of Ismail I - the founder of the Samanid dynasty (874-999), before heading to the green Rudaki Park and Tajikistan’s National Museum. Later, we will go to the Green Market, where we can find all types of Tajik spices.
Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3       Dushanbe – Nurek – Dushanbe 
Nurek is one of the highest lakes and dams in the world. Having an altitude of 300 m, this reservoir is also used for the irrigation of the local agricultural lands. Here, several interesting activities will be suggested, such as fishing and small boat sailing. Before our return to Dushanbe, also we will have an opportunity to admire the amazing landscape.
Leisure time.

Day 4       Dushanbe – Istaravshan – Khujand 
In the morning, we will head to the ancient Istaravshan City. Here, we will discover the ruins of Mug Teppe, a dwelling dating back to the 2nd – 7th centuries. Next, we will head to Kok Gumbaz, a 15th-century fabulous blue mosque. Later, we will visit the atelier of wood art. In the afternoon, we will depart to Khujand, one of the most ancient cities in Central Asia (6th - 7th centuries BC). Upon arrival, we will visit Timur Malik Fortress of the 6th – 7th centuries, which is known as the headquarters of the liberation of Tajik people during the battle between the troops of Timur Malik and Genghis Khan. Later, we will visit the municipal museum and religious houses, which are famous for their historical mulberry trees, as well as the Monument of Amir Ismail Samani, built in 1999. In the evening, we will have a dinner on the bank of Sirdari River.

Day 5       Khujand – Dushanbe
In the morning, we will meet the craftsmen jewelry in Khujand, as well as discover the Arbob Cultural Palace, which was built under the leadership of Urukhojaev and contributed to the development of the collective agriculture (kolkhoz). Also, we will stroll to the carpet market. After the lunch, we will return to the capital, via Shachristan and Anzob Passes.
In the evening, we will arrive in Dushanbe. Farewell dinner at a local restaurant. Preparations for departure.

Day 6       Return flight
Transfer to the airport. End of our services.
