ITINERARY

Day 1        Dushanbe
Arrival at Dushanbe Airport. Transfer to the hotel, check-in, leisure time.

Day 2        Dushanbe – Hisor - Dushanbe
At 09:00 meeting with the guide in the hotel’s reception.
The morning will be dedicated to discovering Tajikistan’s Capital - Dushanbe, which is the biggest city in the country. Hence, we will visit the city center and pass beside the impressive Monument of Ismail I - the founder of the Samanid dynasty (874-999), before heading to the green Rudaki Park and Tajikistan’s National Museum of Antiquities. Later, we will go to the Green Market, which is filled with all types of Tajik spices. After the tasty lunch, we will depart to Hisor City. Upon arrival, we will visit the city's fortress, which was the former residence of Bek - the general governor of the country. Furthermore, we will have a visit to the History Museum of the 16th century, which is the old madrasah and craft house of the city.
Return to Dushanbe in the evening. Dinner at a local restaurant. Leisure time and overnight at the hotel.

Day 3        Dushanbe – Panjakent
In the morning, we will have a tour to Anzob Tunnel (3372 m), where we can see find snow even in the midsummer. Delve into these unrepeatable mountains landscape, before our departure to Panjakent – the ancient Sogdian city dating back to the 5th century. It is situated on the picturesque Zarafshan Valley and contains many impressive ruins.
In the evening, we will taste the savory “Pilaf”, which is a typical dish of Panjakent, and have an overnight at a guest house.

Day 4        Panjakent – Istaravshan
After the breakfast, we will have a city tour in Panjakent. The first stop will be at the Rudaki Historical and Regional Museum, which preserves the ancient cultural values of the local people. Later, we will visit the ancient Panjakent Fortress and Rudaki Mausoleum, who was a famous poet and the founder of the classical Tajik poetry of the 20th century. Afterwards, we will discover the ruins of Sarazm Town, dating back to the 2nd - 4th centuries BC. Before our arrival at Istaravshan City via the Shachristan Pass (3378 m), we will have a lunch at a tea house. Upon our access to the city, we will explore the Sogdian archaeological site of Bunjikath of the 5th – 8th centuries.
Dinner at a local restaurant. Leisure time and overnight at a guest house in Istaravshan.

Day 5        Istaravshan – Khujand
Our city tour in Istaravshan will continue in order to discover the ruins of Mug Teppe, a dwelling dating back to the 2nd – 7th centuries. Also, we will explore Kok Gumbaz - the fabulous blue mosque of the 15th century. Later, we will visit the atelier of wood art. In the afternoon, we will depart to Khujand, one of the most ancient cities in Central Asia (6th - 7th centuries BC). Upon arrival, we will visit Timur Malik Fortress of the 6th – 7th centuries, which is known as the headquarters of the liberation of Tajik people during the battle between the troops of Timur Malik and Genghis Khan. Later, we will visit the municipal museum and religious houses, which are famous for their historical mulberry trees, as well as the Monument of Amir Ismail Samani, built in 1999. In the evening, we will have a dinner on the bank of Sirdari River.

Day 6        Khujand – Isfara - Khujand
In the morning, we will meet the craftsmen jewelry in Khujand, as well as discover the Arbob Cultural Palace, which was built under the leadership of Urukhojaev and contributed to the development of the collective agriculture (kolkhoz). Later, we will stroll to the carpet market. After the lunch at a local restaurant, we will head to Isfara City, which is situated on the border with Kyrgyzstan. We will have a city tour by visiting Sino National Exhibition, the Hazrati-Shoh Mausoleum, one of the oldest complexes of the country, as well as the city park among other interesting sights.
Return to Khujand in the evening. Overnight.

Day 7        Khujand – Dushanbe
We will return to the capital via Shachristan and Anzob Passes. We will arrive at Dushanbe late in the afternoon. After the farewell dinner at a local restaurant, we will prepare for departure.
Leisure time.

Day 8        Return flight
Transfer to the airport. End of our services.
