The Fresh Air of the Mountains

The route of our journey is to Tajikistan while starting from Osh City in Kyrgyzstan. This Grand Tour will take us into extraordinary villages, that have many beautiful sights which will let us completely speechless. Also, we will get the chance to admire the wideness of the Pamir Mountains, as well as a harmonious combination of the history and nature.

ITINERARY

Day 1       Osh (Kyrgyzstan)
Arrival at Osh Airport. Transfer to the hotel, check-in and leisure time.

Day 2       Osh City Tour 
At 09:00 meeting with the guide in the hotel’s lobby.
In the morning, we will arrive in Osh - the second largest city in the country and one of the most ancient cities in Central Asia. According to legend, Osh was founded by King Solomon almost 3000 years ago. Right in the heart of this city is Takht-e-Sulaiman Mountain, which is considered as the second Mecca for Muslims. Whereas, we will visit the National Museum of History and Archaeology, as well as the colorful Osh Bazaar, one of the largest markets in Central Asia, which is situated on the Great Silk Road.
Leisure time and overnight.

Day 3       Osh - Tulpar Lake - Sary-Tash 
The trip will continue to Tulpar Lake, by passing through different villages of Kyrgyzstan. Also, we will have an opportunity to taste “koumys” - the traditional beverage and admire the view of Lenin Peak (7134 m).
Overnight in yurts in Sary-Tash.

Day 4       Tulpar - Karakul Lake (Tajikistan)
Early in the morning, we will depart to Karakul Lake, by crossing the Kyzyl Art Pass - the border between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. Upon arrival, we will stroll along the shimmering lake while admiring the picturesque panoramic views of the Pamir-Alay Chain.
Overnight at a guest house.

Day 5       Karakul Lake “Black Lake” – Murghab 
In the morning, we will leave Karakul, one of the highest lakes in Central Asia in order to head for the hilltop Murghab Village (3800 m). It is reached by crossing the Ak-Baital Pass (4655 m), which is the highest point of our trip.

Day 6      Murghab – Shakhty - Jarty Gumbez – Ak-Kalama (Mashaly)
The day will be dedicated to the discovery of Pamir Region, between the mountains, glacial valleys and the plateaus. Starting with a city tour in Murghab, we will pass by Lenin’s Statue and through the local bazaar. After which, we will hike to the Shakhty where we will see the Neolithic Cave's paintings (8000-5000 BC). If we are lucky, we will also be awarded a view of the famous Marco Polo - the wild sheep of Pamir from the distance of 500-600 meters. Afterwards, we will visit the hot springs of Jarty Gumbez. Here, the surrounding nature is extremely beautiful, especially in June and July.
Upon arrival in Ak-Kalama, we will spend our evening in yurts on the Mashaly's meadows.

Day 7     Ak-Kalama (Mashaly) – Bash Gumbez - Lake Bulunkul
Early in the morning, we will depart to the turquoise Bulunkul Lake. All along the way, we will discover the Bash Gumbez Caravanserai, which is a geyser and an ancient Chinese tomb. Later, we will arrive at Bulunkul and stroll around the lake.
Dinner and overnight at a guest house in Bulunkul Village.

Day 8     Lake Bulunkul - Lake Yashilkul – Marjanay
We will start the day with hiking to Yashilkul Lake in order to discover the prehistoric stone circles and the ancient Islamic mausoleum. After the picnic, we will go to the meadows of Marjanay, located close to Alichur River.
Leisure time and overnight in tents.

Day 9     Marjanay – Chapdar
Our hiking will continue in the Pamir, by passing through the majestic landscape and natural lakes which look like exclusive mirrors.
Upon arrival in Chapdar, we will spend the evening in the tents, before heading in the morning to Bachor.

Day 10   Chapdar – Bachor
Bachor Village is located at 3800 m above sea level, on the upper course of the arid Gunt Valley. This magnificent place offers an attractive hike for its visitors in order to discover the high-altitude lakes and glaciers of Tajikistan's National Park.

Day 11   Bachor – Jelandy – Langar
After the breakfast, we will head for Langar Village, while crossing the picturesque passes of Khargush (4344 m) and Koi-Tezek (4271 m). Before arriving at the village, we will discover the sulphurous hot springs of Jelandy (3570 m). Afterwards, we will explore the petroglyphs of Langar Village.
Overnight at a guest house.

Day 12   Langar – Yamg – Eshkashem
The trip will continue to Eshkashem Village, which is situated close to the border of Afghanistan. On the way, we will visit the Khakha Fortress, dating back to the 3rd century BC, the tomb of Shah-i-Mardan Hazrat Ali, the Zoroastrian Fortress, as well as the hot springs of Bibi Fatima and Buddhist complex dating back to the 4th-7th centuries. Later in Yamg, we will visit the home-museum Ismaili Sufi (mystic) - the astronomer and musician Muborak Kadam Vakhani. Also here, we will see a stone next to his house, which he used as a solar calendar.
Upon our arrival at Eshkashem, we will have a dinner and leisure time.

Day 13   Eshkashem - Wakhan Valley – Khorugh
In the morning, we will depart to enjoy a relaxing time at the hot springs of Garam-Chashma. Later, we will pass along the valley of Wakhan River, while admiring the breathtaking view of the Pamir and the Hindu Kush. On the way, we will have an open-air picnic.
Check-in at a guest house and leisure time in Khorugh.

Day 14   Khorugh
The day will be dedicated to the discovery of Khorugh (2200 m) - the capital of Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region. Hence, we will visit the Regional Museum and the Botanical Garden (3900 m), which is the second highest one in the world.
Overnight in Khorugh.

Day 15    Khorugh - Qal’ai Khumb
In the morning, we will leave Khorugh for Qal’ai Khumb, while passing along the Panj River, which is a tributary of the Amu Darya and through different villages. Our lunch break will be in a traditional restaurant to enjoy a tasty meal.
Upon arrival in Qal’ai Khumb, we will check-in at the hotel and have a leisure time.

Day 16   Qal’ai Khumb – Hulbuk - Dushanbe
In the morning, we will head to the Capital of Tajikistan - Dushanbe, while admiring the beautiful surrounding landscapes. On the route of our trip, we will visit the ancient settlement of Hulbuk (9th-11th centuries), it is worth-seeing archaeological complex and museum.
Check-in at the hotel in Dushanbe, preparations for departure.

Day 17   Return flight
Transfer to the airport. End of our services.
