ITINERARY

  

Day 1     Yerevan
Arrival at Yerevan Zvartnots International Airport. Welcome, transfer to the hotel. Rest.

Day 2     Yerevan City Tour
Your guide will be waiting for you at the reception of the hotel.
Yerevan - one of the oldest cities in the world - welcomes you and invites you to a beautiful stroll. We will explore the Matenadaran Museum where ancient manuscripts that speak about ancient traditions, have been preserved here over many centuries. Later, we will continue to the Megerian factory to learn the mystery of the creation of handmade Armenian rugs. In a traditional atmosphere, we will enjoy the delicious lunch with a glass of good wine. Afterward, we will visit Ararat Brandy factory where we will have an interesting tour through the history of winemaking in Armenia. Next, we will spend the evening in a traditional tavern.

Day 3     Yerevan - Khor Virap - Areni 
Today we will head to the Armenian wine regions of Ararat and Vayots Dzor. The fine taste of Armenian wines and brandy is due to warm, dry climate and fertile soil of the Ararat Valley. We will visit the monastery of Khor Virap, where the Mount Ararat majestically rises behind and seems to be so close. At the end of the afternoon, we will arrive in Areni for discovering the village. In the evening, we will enjoy delicious meals and have a rest.

Day 4     Areni - Noravank - Cellar "Maran" - Yerevan
Areni is a wine village with many vineyards and a rich wine tradition. The annual wine festival is held in this village. South of Areni, in the Amaghu gorge, we will discover the monastery of Noravank, one of the most magnificent monasteries of Armenia. During a visit to the wine cellar Maran, we will taste wine and unique dishes of the local cuisine. In the evening we will return to Yerevan. Here, we will have dinner in a traditional restaurant where good wine is their visit card.

Day 5     Yerevan - Amberd - Cellar "Golden Grape ArmAs" - Yerevan
Today we will discover another wine-making region, Aragatsotn. At the beginning of the day, we will explore the partially destroyed Amberd Fortress (2300m above sea level) of the 7th century and the Vahramashen Church. Then we will head to a vineyard, where we will have a nice walk through extensive yards and orchards. Later we will have lunch on the spot. In the evening we will return to the capital, where you will have free time for individual discoveries.

Day 6     Yerevan: "Noy" wine and brandy factory - Zvartnots - Etchmiadzin - Aknashen - Yerevan
In the morning we will cover the wine and brandy factory "Noy", where we will deepen our knowledge of the history of the production of Armenian wine and brandy. Afterward we will proceed to Echmiadzin, the religious capital of all Armenians. The trip will continue to the village of Aknashen. Here you will feel the warm hospitality of local people who will invite you to the Armenian table. You will also have a unique opportunity to participate in the preparation of "lavash", the traditional flatbread, and enjoy Armenian dishes accompanied with good homemade wine. Full of positive impressions, we will return to Yerevan. Rest.

Day 7     Yerevan - Sevan - Dilijan - Tbilisi
Today we will depart from Armenia. Treat yourself with the best wines in Armenia and get ready for the new flavors awaiting you in Georgia. At the beginning of the day, we will drive to Lake Sevan, "the blue pearl'' of Armenia. On the peninsula Sevan we will explore the Sevanavank church and later we will discover the picturesque town of Dilijan, "little Switzerland" and the old city Sharambeyan, which was restored by the Tufenkian Foundation, where we will discover the hotel-museum, "Old Dilijan", with its original style, old furniture, and handmade carpets. We will have lunch and later cross Armenian-Georgian and reach the capital Tbilisi in the evening.

Day 8     Tbilisi City Tour
Today we will have a nice stroll through Tbilisi. In the city center, on the left bank of the Kura River, we will visit the Sameba Cathedral, one of the main Georgian Orthodox churches. From here, a beautiful view of Mount Mtatsminda and the old town opens up. Then we will discover Metekhi Church. A cable car will take us to the 4th century Narikala Fortress. We will also visit the Baths of Orbeliani and the Synagogue, the Sioni Cathedral and the Anchiskhati Church (6th century.). After lunch, we will drive to the city of Sighnaghi. As we arrive we will check in at the hotel and have some rest.

Day 9     Sighnaghi - Velistsikhe - Telavi
Sighnaghi, a city rich in color with beautiful streets, small wooden balconies each offering magnificent views of the Alazani River and the giant mountains of the Greater Caucasus. In the village of Velistsikhe, we will visit the outdoor Numisi Museum and the 16th-century wine cellar. Later, we will depart to Telavi, a center of Georgian viticulture with many cellars. The region is full of vineyards and beautiful cellars. In a pleasant atmosphere, we will taste the delicious specialties of Georgian cuisine with good local wine. Overnight in Telavi.

Day 10   Telavi - Ikalto Monastery - Kvareli - Cellar "Khareba" - Tbilisi
Telavi City is one of the most beautiful cities in Kakheti province. In a local bazaar, you will find everything your heart desires: delicious fruit, homemade wine, vodka and Georgian grapes called "Tshatsha", different spices and sauces, cheese, traditional bread, sweet specialties such as that soutzoukos, gosinaki etc. We will also discover the beautiful Ikalto Monastery and continue to Kvareli, famous for its wines. Here, we will visit the unique cellar "Khareba", known for the high quality of its wines. In this cozy winery, we will enjoy once again the good wine with selected dishes to the wine. By the evening we will return to Tbilisi, where we will have dinner at Schuchmann Wine Restaurant, which originally used to be the Tbilelli caravanserai. Here, we will experience the premium wines "Schuchmann" or "Vinoterra". The experienced sommeliers will tell us about the history of these wines and offer the dishes that will be best paired with the taste of the wines.

Day 11   Tbilisi - Mtskheta - Château Mukhrani - Tbilisi
A trip to the old royal capital Mtskheta. Visit to Svetitskhoveli Cathedral. Very close to Mtskheta we will unfold the monastery of Jvari. Together with other monuments of Mtskheta, this monastery was included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. On the way back to Tbilisi, in the heart of the old town, we will admire the Château Mukhrani. Fascinating vineyards, royal family history, interesting legends and a cozy wine studio are a true experience for every wine lover. This will be the opportunity to end our adventure in the nice company around last toasts.

Day 12    Return Flight
Transfer to the airport. End of our services.
