ITINERARY

Day 1         Ulaanbaatar
Flight to Ulaanbaatar. In the next morning, we will arrive in the Mongolian Capital at 7 o'clock.

Day 2         Ulaanbaatar City Tour
At 09:00 meeting with the guide in the hotel’s reception.
In the afternoon, we will discover the capital and visit the Gandantegchinlen Monastery, whose original name of Tibetan translates to the "Great Place of Complete Joy". Later, we will visit the National History Museum, which represents an integral picture of the Mongolian history from the prehistory to present day.

Day 3         Ulaanbaatar – Khovd
We will depart from the capital to Khovd by plane. This city is located at the foot of Altay Mountains, on the bank of Buyant River. Khovd is well-known throughout the region for its watermelon and tomatoes, which are harvested in the end of the summer. We will have a city tour and a visit to the local museum.

Day 4         Khovd – Tolbo Lake
In the morning, we will visit Tolbo Lake. This was the main arena of the Russian-Mongolian war, which took place in 1921. Here, we will discover the nomad's way of life.

Day 5         Tolbo Lake - The Eagle Festival in Ulgii – Ulaankhus
On this day, we will participate in the Eagle Festival in Bayan-Ulgii Province. It is a traditional Mongolian event, which takes place every year on the first weekend of October. This festival is organized by the Mongolian Falconry Association, in order to announces the opening of the hunting season. It is a hunting competition between Kazakh falconers "Berkitshi" and their eagles. Also, different exhibitions, dance and musical performances are organized during this festival.

Day 6         Ulaankhus – Tavan Bogd
The trip will continue to Tavan Bogd Mountain, which is the highest peak in the Mongolian Altai Mountains.

Day 7         Tavan Bogd
This day is dedicated to Tavan Bogd National Park, which has borders with China and Russia. We will visit the pine and larch forests with small lakes and the Petroglyphs Complexes of Mongolian Altai, which are inscribed on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Overnight in the tents.

Day 8         Tavan Bogd
We will continue the discoveries in Tavan Bogd, by visiting the Khurgan Nuur Lake, which is located in the heart of the national park, surrounded by the beautiful mountains.
Overnight in the yurt of a nomadic family.

Day 9         Tavan Bogd
We will arrange a horse riding tour, by passing through the picturesque landscapes and the Lakes of Khurgan and Khoton.
Overnight in the yurts of the nomadic families.

Day 10       Tavan Bogd – Sagsai
This is the last opportunity to spend a day with nomadic family and discover their habits and customs. Also, we will stroll in the village.
Overnight in the yurts of the nomadic families.

Day 11       Sagsai – Ulgii – Ulaanbaatar
We will return to Ulgii in order to have a flight to Ulaanbaatar. In the afternoon, we will arrive in the capital.

Day 12       Return flight
Early in the morning, transfer to the airport. End of our services.
