ITINERARY

Day 1         Ashgabat
Arrival at Ashgabat Airport. Transfer to the hotel, check-in, leisure time.

Day 2         Ashgabat
At 09:00 meeting with the guide in the hotel’s lobby.
The Turkmen capital has its unique shape, thanks to the white marble buildings. Here, we will have a guided city tour to the Independence and Neutrality Monuments, Ertugrul Gazi Mosque which also referred to as Azadi Mosque.
Dinner at a typical restaurant. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3         Ashgabat – Darvaza
Darvaza gas crater is a miracle in the heart of Karakum Desert. The “Door to Hell” is impressive during the daylight, but it is more fascinating at the sunset. Upon arrival in the evening, we will witness the charming spectacle view on the top, which are tongues of burning flames on depth of 20 m.
At the end of the day, we will have a picnic in nature's embrace. Overnight in the tents.

Day 4         Darvaza – Dashoguz – Ashgabat
The morning will be dedicated to visiting Dashoguz City, which is located in the North of the country. The road will take us to Konye-Urgench, in order to discover the ancient capital of Khwarazmian Empire. This splendid city shelters incomparable monuments, which prove the geniality of architecture at the time.
We will return to Ashgabat by the plane. Transfer to the hotel and overnight.

Day 5         Ashgabat - Turkmenbashi
The trip will continue to Turkmenbashi. Whereas, our exciting discovery will start from Turkmenbashi Mosque and Mausoleum, as well as the Geok Tepe Memorial Mosque. On the way, we will also discover the underground Kow-Ata Lake and Nokhur Mountain Village.
Overnight in Turkmenbashi.

Day 6         Turkmenbashi – Yangykala Canyon – Balkanabat
We will depart to Yangykala Canyon, which is translated as “glowing canyon”, because of its reddish colored hills. All along our way, we will discover the mausoleum, which serves as a pilgrimage place for Muslims.
Overnight in Balkanabat.

Day 7        Balkanabat – Dehistan
In the morning, we will head to Mashat-Misrian Plateau to explore the ruins of Dehistan City. Nowadays, it is a very important archaeological site, inscribed on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Site. Also, we will discover the 11th-century minaret and the ruins of Ala ad-Din Muhammad Mosque - the Shah of the Khwarazmian Empire. Several kilometers away from here, we will discover Mashhad-i Misrian Necropolis.
Dinner and overnight in the tents.

Day 8         Dehistan – Nokhur
We will continue our route along Kopet Dag Mountain Chain to discover Nokhur Settlement. According to some researchers' theories, this settlement's name derives from Noah. Also, many places in this region carry Biblical names. Besides, the locals consider themselves as the descendants of Alexander the Great.
Overnight in the tents.

Day 9         Nokhur – Ashgabat 
In the morning, we will return to Ashgabat. However, on our way to the capital, we will discover Bakharden Cave, as well as the underground Kow-Ata Lake.
After a delicious lunch at the same place, we will arrive in Ashgabat, check-in at the hotel, leisure time.

Day 10       Ashgabat – Mary
We will head towards Mary - the third largest city in Turkmenistan. In the afternoon, we will arrive in Mary and check in at the hotel.

Day 11       Mary - Gonur Tepe – Merv – Mary
In the morning, we will head directly to Gonur Tepe. It is the capital of Margush (Margiana) - the legendary country, which is among the most famous sites from the Bronze Age (2300-1600 BC). The ruins of the fortresses and temples are comparable to those of Assyria and Babylon, which were discovered by the professor Viktor Sarianidi in 1972. The on-going archaeological excavations until nowadays have revealed the settlements of the urban Mesopotamian civilization. Later, we will have a picnic at the same place. Then we will continue to visit Merv, which is located at 25 km away from Mary. Merv is one of the oldest oasis-cities on the Silk Road, which is inscribed on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Site. Therefore, we will explore the well-preserved urban centers and remarkable fortifications, dating back to the 3rd millennium BC. Also, we will visit Sultan-Kala, Gyaur-Kala, Erk-Kala, Abdullakhan-Kala and Bairamalikhan-Kala architectural monuments.
Back to Mary. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 12       Mary – Ashgabat
We will take the train and return to Ashgabat Capital.
Upon arrival, we will check-in at the hotel.

Day 13       Ashgabat
In the morning, we will visit the famous Altyn Asyr Bazaar (Tolkuchka). Here, we can find all kinds of products: Turkmen carpets, handmade goods, jewelry and even animals, such as camels and horses. After the lunch, we will visit the National Museum of Carpets in order to admire its magnificent collection of Turkmen rugs from the Middle Ages till the 20th century.
In the evening, farewell dinner at a typical restaurant. Preparations for departure.

Day 14       Return flight
Transfer to the airport. End of our services.
